Vicki Levering graduated from Hollins College with a BA in English. She resides in Richmond, Virginia with her husband, two children and two "adopted" dogs. Postcards from the Pound is her first children´s book and was inspired the family´s own fluffy yellow dog named Maggie and her canine friends from the neighborhood.
For this project, Ms. Levering collaborated with Thomas McAteer, an illustrator based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of West Chester University and studied Multimedia Design at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
